Both funny and ridden with sex, angst, and self-loathing.

The Quilt Guild

I went to the first meeting of a new art quilt guild on Saturday. I am not sure why everyone laughs when they hear this. While I am excited to be part of the group, there are some things that bothered me about the group. First, I was the youngest person in there by at least 30 years, but that is really not a surprise. I have always had much in common with sexagenarians. We went around to discuss our work an I noticed that 4 out of 12 women there had a husband die, commit suicide, or go missing in the last year. One of the widowed ladies mentioned that she sold her husband’s 68 Mustang for a new sewing machine, but I do not know he died before or after that transaction. I am going to stick with this group as it seems that they can teach me much and not just about quiliting.
